Game: WEST HAM vs SUNDERLAND
Type: PREMIER LEAGUE
Date: 4 April, 2009
PREVIEW
West Ham will be looking to overcome their recent shortage of goals when they welcome Sunderland to Upton Park. Gianfranco Zola's side have only scored four goals in their last seven Premier League matches, and average only 1.33 goals per match at home. They have played under 2.5 goals in their last 5 matches, but only lost once during that stretch.
Similarly in the opposite end, Sunderland have yet to score in their last 3 away matches. More alarming is the rate that they are conceding away, which currently stands at 1.41 goals per match. In addition to this, they have yet to win in their last 5 matches and consequently dropping to 14th position in the league. The Black Cats will be hoping that their star striker Kenwyne Jones finds his scoring boots again as he has a good goal-scoring record against the Hammers.
