Game: EVERTON vs STOKE CITY
Type: PREMIER LEAGUE
Date: 14 March, 2009
PREVIEW
Everton's come from behind win over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup quarterfinals have stretched their unbeaten run on asian handicap to 12. They are also sitting comfortably at 6th position in the league with ambitions to make a late push to challenge for Champions League football. Their run is all the more amazing considering the amount of injuries that the team had to endure throughout the season. Despite this, they have laboured to win matches when it mattered, and are now reaping the fruits.
Stoke will also be buoyed by their recent improvement in form, especially in the scoring department where they have 2 goals each in their last 3 matches. They will be at full strength as Etherington returns after a 3 match ban. With a 10 day rest due to the FA Cup in the previous week, they will be hoping to capitalize on any slip-ups by the host.
AWAY > STOKE CITY

THE PICK
Despite Everton's loftier position in the league, STOKE looks capable of upsetting the form book especially when most of the home team's wins are not more than a goal difference. With James Beattie on top form and the visitors unbeaten in their last 3, Everton might be in for a surprise if they take Stoke lightly.
